I went to Golds for a workout, what did you do?

Today is a good day and I felt great at the gym. I started off with a 4 mi run on the treadmill at about a 8:30/mi. Then went into the weights room and did a bunch of weight work including:

2 echos each:
lunges up and down length of gym with 25lb dumbells
arnold press 25lbs dumbells
side lats 40lb dumbells
squats with 25lb barbell
push presses 25lbs dumbell
then I ended the weight room with 50 bench jumps

Then I did 40 pushups using the BOSU to add some instability
and ended my workout with 10 mins on the stairmill at level 8/9

I did try a new machine but I don’t think it was working right today. It basically is for sit-ups and it throws/tees up the medicine ball for you. So you grab a ball and you lean all the way back with the ball overhead and on the way up you throw the ball at the target and grab the next ball and repeat. So instead of a partner for the workout, you use this machine. I couldn’t get the balls to align right and had to stop to grab the balls each time. It was frustrating…I think there was a ball missing or something. Next time I will ask for help…

If you want to work on your abs specifically, here are some good tips. We do most of these moves in boot camp in some form or another and I can attest to the fact that they do work. But Ab development is not only done via working out. You have to modify your diet too!

What did you do today?

  1. I went to Lifetime today and did 5.25 miles on the treadmill. I tried to do 1/2 mile intervals from 6.0 to 6.3 to 6.6 and then like 1-2min at 7.0 with the last .75 miles w/30 sec intervals up to 8.5. Then 10 min on the elliptical to cool down. 15 min of abs, core and stretching. I’m hungry!

  2. Oh and it feels like my bursitis (sp?) is back in my left hip and both my hammies are cursing me.

  3. 60 min cardio class. Stations again for 2 min at each. Worst one was aligator push-ups. Have you done those before? One of my least favorites! 🙂
