Tuesday workout & Some Observations

I went out for a bit last night to to a neighborhood holiday cookie/ornament exchange party. It’s hard to go off your routine but worthwhile on occasion.  I didn’t get back too late but did stay up past my normal 930p bedtime. During the party, people were assuming I would skip my workout this morning. As I have said before – unless I am sick and/or contagious or some really really good reason, there are no excuses when you are committed.

Some observations from my big night out:

-In the back of my mind throughout the party, I thought about the time and how 5a was taunting me.
-I was continually conscious about the food and what I was eating.
-People asked me a lot about my fitness program and remarked on how different I looked – (my neighbor didn’t recognize me !)

So what does that say to me in order:

-I need to learn to relax a bit and enjoy the moment I am in.
-I think its a good change to be conscious about the food you eat. Full disclosure: i had 2 cookies
-The program must be working

My workout today was:

warm up including checkpoints, lunges, frankensteins, push-ups
core: toe touches/partner leg raises
25 side clap partner push-ups.

3 rounds/As many reps each station/total rep count:
Box Jumps (double/single/double) – rest/active station
Power clean push presses with 25lb kettlebells
Ring push-ups
Wall Ball squats (double squats if you can do it)
45lb Snatch

This 45lb snatch is tough. I can’t seem to do it without doing a small jump to start. It’s frustrating.

  1. I went to Lifetime this morning for a cardio extravaganza!
    – 60 min spin class focused on endurance (so we didn’t get HR up in the zone, but it was a good workout and a good fat burner)
    – 1 mile run at 6.0 (my legs do not like to run after biking but I’m working on this)
    – .6 mile swim (didn’t watch the clock but think it was about 20-25 min
As an added bonus, I’m going to bootcamp tonite and will do Steph’s workout above.

  2. I did Bootcamp this am and like you the 45 lb is hard I came home and walked Ryder 2.9 miles then off to PB to unload 213 boxes! My shoulders are feeling a little sore!

  3. 60 min cardio class. 30, 60 & 90 sec pyramid up & down, sprints in between, repeat 4 times. Worst was mountain climbers but I did them the entire time. Abs & triceps to finish off. 90 tricep dips was tough so I had to bring my feet in but still did 90. Always good to feel like you pushed and made it through without giving up. 🙂
