Figure out a way

A shift…

I went to a few parties this week. As you can tell I am pretty regimented about my program even on the weekends.MT calls it KIC – Keep it clean! So going out to parties and staying out later than usual throws me off a bit. Don’t get me wrong, it’s totally worth it. It’s nice catching up with people I don’t see very often – neighbors and old friends. Also it’s great to meet new people whom you are randomly connected to. So I went ahead and celebrated – ’tis the season right?

So at both of these parties, I ran into people who had not seen me in some time. I must look very different because a few of them did not immediately recognize me. I know I look different but you forget when it’s just you living your normal life. At both parties, people wanted to talk to me about what it is I did to achieve my results. I got all sorts of reactions to me sharing my routine. Reactions like – Oh I could never do that. I’m not a morning person. I don’t want to work hard or I do work out, but I don”t get those results. Everyone had something to say and many had a thousand excuses on why they couldn’t figure out how to fit fitness into their lives. I even got, oh you don’t drink, so its probably easier for you. You think this is easy? Ha! Each one that showed interest in what I have been doing – I have offered to take them along to one of the camps or meet them at the local gym. As I mentioned, one of the missions of this blog is to inspire people to make the changes necessary in their lives. I think I may have a few that are considering it. My bootcamp program offers evening camps as well if early morning is not your thing.

The reality is that you have to want it, you have to commit to it, and you have to recommit to it every day.
You have to figure out a way to make time for it – because everyone is busy. With that being said – It is so much fun and rewarding and the payoff is you feel and look great! I have met the most amazing people as well. So not only does it help improve your overall health, it improves your social life. Its one of the best benefits actually. Meeting like minded people who are fun and into their health has improved my life in so many ways. I love those Plumbline Ladies.

One other thing that I wanted to share – one of the neighbors said I don’t want to work hard, and the other one said – well then you can’t have a body that looks like that and pointed to me. I have NEVER been the receiver of that sort of comment before – i mean EVER. It was seriously a great great feeling – knowing that the work I have been putting in, has been paying off.
