Getting Creative with Exercise

More snow last night and today. This is getting a bit old. I love a bit of snow to break up the monotony but this is getting ridiculous! Since the DC area is not used to this kind of snowfall, we are seeing all sorts of issues. Many businesses have to close because of the weight on their roofs. Including Golds Gym. And because there is just so much snow on the ground, many businesses including Plumbline Training are not plowed. So both options today are not available to get some exercise in. So I am once again happy I have that elliptical downstairs. I used it last night and again this morning.

Shoveling is on the agenda later today for some upper body work and then some more elliptical tonite. Nothing like being cooped up in your house for days on end to make you want to move around A LOT!

I went looking around Picasa to see pics from  the Blizzard of 2010 and here is what I have found:

Enjoy the Snow!!

  1. Ok, I can finally add in a workout that didn’t sound lame! yay

I went to Body Construction today for a crossfit class. Here’s the workout that allowed me to burn 820 calories in about 82 minutes called the Tornado!

    Warmup:
    – Ladder drills for 5 min (like on biggest loser last night)
    – Hypertension – 30
    – Decline Situps – 30
    – 5lb moses lifts (15/front and 15/side) – these are really hard, slow movement and burns the crap out of your shoulders!

    Workout for time:
    50 times/each – 135lb deadlifts and knee 2 elbow
    as set 1.
50 times/each – KB snatch (i’m not sure what the weight was prob 25lbs) and pullups (assisted w/band).
50 times/each -box jumps and wheelies (harder than it looks).
My time sucked – 37min…I know I can do better.
