Spreading awareness and taking names

I am passionate about sharing information related to cancer prevention, research and awareness.  Finding a way to prevent cancer is paramount to us all.   Personally, colon cancer was the one that affected my family – so it’s a very personal battle, but we all know someone that has been changed by it.  Spreading awareness and gaining knowledge about it is key in helping win the war.

This month it’s Colorectal Cancer Awareness month, so each day this month, I am posting information related to general cancer awareness and something about colon cancer specifically.

Colorectal cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in both men and women in the US. The American Cancer Society estimates that about 146,970 new cases and 49,920 deaths expected in 2009. About 72% of cases arise in the colon and about 28% in the rectum. Know the symptoms!

Exciting Breast Cancer Research News
