Happy St. Patrick’ Day

The weather was incredible yesterday and we are supposed to have more great weather to round out the week. Spring is in the air!

I went for a run last night when I got home from work. I am very lucky that Scotty is so supportive and has no issues manning the fort while I go take some time for myself. I live near the WO&D trail so I ran over there and did about a 5K and made it home before it got dark. I felt great after wards!

This morning it was chilly. You forget that when spring approaches you get a wide array of temperatures from early AM to evening… It was group session today at Plumbline Training with just 6 of us going through the routine.

We started off with 30 sec intervals of jumping with the heavy rope for a warm-up.

General stretching
Core work
40 push-ups
2 rounds 1min
BOSU crunches
BOSU Glute bridge (left then right leg lifted)
BOSU Side crunches (1 min each side)

Workout:
oblique tugs 50lbs
shoulder press 80lbs  (I did 7 unassisted)
double box jumps (2 boxes in a row and you jump then jump again)
rope climb
lateral squats 45lbs
kettlebell swings 45lbs

In honor of St Patty’s day – Kimmie and I renamed some of the stations. The bunny hops were known as The Leprechaun hops, pull ups were called “looking for the Pot of Gold”, and the inch worms – Guinness Crawl. Listen, we have to find humor in something while we go through this…

PT station
3 rounds @ 60secs each
85lb front squats
inch worms
assisted pull-ups (with a band)
