Embrace the Suck


Fall is really here — there is no denying it. It’s chilly and dark when I wake up. And I have to start learning to breathe in chilly weather. When the cold air hits my lungs, they seize up causing my asthma to kick in, in full gear. It was tough because OF COURSE there was running today.

Lately, not sure if its my mental state or my body is worn out, but I am tired. I have had the most stressful month, my face has broken out, I have resorted to snacking again — I can tell there are some things in my life out of balance. It seeps out in so many ways – when you deny or keep putting off things you know you need to do, you can’t hide from them no matter how hard you try. I always say when the Universe is trying to tell you something, it doesn’t let you escape. It’s trying to figure out what it’s trying to say and tell you that’s the hard part. And even harder sometimes is doing it.

Coach Conan was leading the class today. I love his style of coaching. He doesnt forget that sometimes you need to go over even the basic warmup movements to ensure you are getting the most out of it. And he is there to push you when you need it — he’s one of the best coaches I have worked with. A great combo of humor, skill and motivation and really focuses on form and mobility.
