CrossFit Kids is the Real Deal!

My 9 year old daughter is totally getting into CrossFit. She goes to CrossFit Kids 2x a week and while she is there –she just attacks whatever she is challenged with. It’s a side of her that I have never seen before and I love it. Before this, she never took to any sport. I tried ballet, dance, soccer, gymnastics, karate — nothing seemed to click with her. I am not one to push my kids into something that they don’t like. I do however make a deal that if they want to try something — and they commit to doing it — that they have to finish it. So if we sign up for soccer, you have to finish the season. Deal.

And with each session, it wasn’t her thing. So, to see her take to CF Kids just brings me so much joy. Not only because I love it, and we can share that — but just to see her really shine. She was allowed to progress into the older kids class, so she is learning with Teens and although not quite as skillful as them, she is giving them a run for their money. I can’t wait to see how she progresses year after year.

We have had a few teens share with us that after doing CrossFit recently with CrossFit Impavidus, they are outshining their fellow team mates and competitors. A 17 year old high school wrestler, Cameron, has more endurance than his team mates and his coach has taken notice of his improved performance during matches. Tara, tried out for the volleyball team — and she was able to complete more full on push ups than anyone else trying out! CrossFit is no joke — it really does help improve performance. So if you have a kid –that is trying to get better, give it a try. There are CF Kids programs all over the country!

Workout of today — was a toughie for me. Lots of breathing issues which frustrates me to no end. I think I was the last one to finish today!!! NO!!!

I had a bit of a asthma attack in the middle that got me panicked. Thankfully one of the assistant coaches, Jon, was there to tell me to relax and calm down. Nothing worse than starting to panic when you are having issues breathing!!

Have a great day!
