Last night Scott and I attended his company holiday party. It’s fun to get all dressed up and go out with the sole purpose of having a good time — open bar, lots of food, dancing and fun. It was a good time all around. I had a glass of wine and some prime rib — YUM and then I saw the Meringue cookies. I am a sucker for these cookies — I LOVE THEM — so much in fact I think I hate 11 of them and it was at the point where they didn’t even taste good anymore and I had a film on my teeth that I finally stopped. They were soooooo good — And I would say that this Holiday Party was a ton of fun. It wasn’t over crowded and good fun. It is probably the only holiday party I am attending this season — so livin it up.
I emailed a friend of mine who manages a Yoga studio this week. I want to take a few days in a row off from CrossFit training and will do some Yoga. I really think the lack of progress is from not letting my body recover enough from my intense workouts. I know everyone keeps telling me that — but I can’t just sit around and do nothing. Mentally it’s just not possible, so I am going to try Yoga. It will help stretch my body and clear my mind.
We seem to be doing some lifting this week at CrossFit. Today’s lift – Sumo Deadlift High Pull (SDHP) and then add in a KB swing — AGAIN — and you have a formula for a tough sub 10 min workout!

It’s frustrating that because of the weather — my performance seems to go down. It’s bumming me out but I can’t breathe so I ended up stopping a few times to try to relax and catch my breath. I’m not sure if its more panic than medically necessary for me to stop but the air seemed a lot thicker this morning which made it even more difficult and I am sure the wine and Meringues too — but doesn’t matter how tough it is to get up some mornings — I am committed – No excuses.
