If you aren’t in it to win it, you won’t


As great as the competition was on Saturday, it left me wiped out. My shoulders and traps are tight and sore. Who would think that burpees could cause so much uncomfort? They seem so innocent but doing 10 a minute for 7 mins is just carazy!!  On the CrossFit Games scoreboard – there are athletes who have done 140-150 in 7m. I can not even imagine that many in 7m. I am in awe of their skills.

Today’s workout was a hero workout — hard and created in honor of a fallen hero —

In honor of USAF SSgt Timothy P. Davis, 28, who was killed on Feburary, 20 2009 supporting operations in OEF when his vehicle was struck by an IED. Timothy is survived by his wife Megan and one-year old son T.J.

I started with 75# but after a few hang cleans on the first round, I just couldn’t do it. My hands,forearms were fatigued and my shoulders were hurting.  And to be honest, mentally I just wasn’t into it. That combo — I said forget it and went down to 65# and it was still a struggle. It’s true about how the power comes from your mind. If you aren’t in it to win it, you won’t. Plain and simple….
