Celebrating on 12.12.12

meandbooScott and I spent yesterday evening at a wedding — celebrating the marriage of one of his work friends on 12.12.12.  A Wednesday evening wedding is not quite the norm for us working people and boy am I feeling it today.  I had a few drinks but skipped dessert.

It was such a nice evening — being around some good friends and just getting out of our normal routine. Sometimes it is just what you need and you didn’t even know it!

I also got the chance to wear a new spiffy outfit!

We got home late – no surprise there so no workout for me this AM. I purposely scheduled today as my rest day. It’s all about planning!

I waned to share this article I read yesterday because it’s really upsetting to me that this trend is exploding:

Generation Y And Plastic Surgery: The Rise Of Cosmetic Procedures Among Canada’s Millennial Generation

Media and the Internet have made it hard to escape this vision of perfection and it’s permeating to the younger set in a far more powerful way than ever. And what’s even more disturbing is what they are seeing isn’t even real.

As a parent, it’s increasingly more difficult to combat these unrealistic visions of ideal beauty and teach self acceptance to our kids when they are using mobile and digital devices everywhere they go.
