Perspective

I had to relearn how to walk and do many daily functions. As I kept working through physical therapy, CrossFit became a big part of recovery. All this time my 7 year old daughter has watched me fight! Watched me get stronger. Through CrossFit, I have been able to show her how to be proud of herself and her strength. And after asking for awhile, on Monday, she did her first CrossFit class and absolutely loved it. I am so blessed to share this with her!!!

I also have a blog that my father started when I was in the hospital. I took it over after I had been home for awhile. It has been a long process of grieving and healing, but my desire to work has been my saving grace. We often have the ability to choose whether we want to work out or work on our physical fitness. There are many reasons that we choose not to, many excuses; time, kids, fatigue, lack of motivation. In hindsight, I see how I never saw my recovery and subsequent physical trials as a choice. I wanted to be better, I wanted to be able to pick my 2 year old son up, I wanted to play with my kids in the yard, so I pushed, I fought, and I worked. Here is my post where they let me get on the treadmill for the first time at my rehabilitation hospital. A BIG day! 🙂

Read this story and it will give you a ton of perspective on what’s important in life…
