Celebrate and Recognize – Living Beyond Cancer

Why not ambush Scott with a silly string party!?It was such a great day yesterday — so much to smile about. I heard from a ton of people from my past and present, all joining in to recognize how big of a day it was for our family.

Yesterday, HB said now we can leave cancer behind us because Dad is cancer free. I laughed and said – you know Hannah, he was cancer free five years ago too! We are just more confident that he will remain C-Free.  While it was a great moment and milestone to acknowledge, we have been living beyond cancer for a long time now. You can’t live a full life if you constantly live in a state of fear. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

We went out yesterday eve to celebrate. Steak dinner for me – Ribs for Scotty and DQ Blizzards to cap it off. I felt like crap this morning and began shaking during the WOD this morning. That will teach me for sure – ugh.

Here are some CrossFit related stuff I have been reading:

“While the media have jumped on this particular study as newsworthy, many other studies suggest that omega-3 fatty acids prevent prostate cancer (perhaps by controlling inflammation or lowering the cell signaling molecules that could stimulate cancer cell growth), or have no effect at all on prostate cancer.

Meanwhile, omega-3 fatty acid consumption has been found helpful for everything from Alzheimer’s to joint pain.”
