Columbus Day – Means Switching Things Up

The kids are off from school due to the Columbus Day, so that was a great reason to sleep in a bit and hit a later CrossFit class. We are de-loading for the next week or so since we just finished the 12 week strength program. It’s a very odd feeling to be de-loading — but i know internally, it’s the only way to come back stronger. It’s just an odd feeling —

So this weekend, I had to go to Walmart…

I hate going to Walmart.  I don’t like the overall experience of being there – too many people, too much stuff. I can’t explain it, it’s just not a good shopping experience. But I go on occasion. As we were going down the baking aisle, I just stopped for a second and looked at row after row of crap food. Processed baking mixes of every variety and size and I was reminded why we have an obesity problem in this country. This is how people eat regularly — and most have no idea how good their bodies are designed to feel. It just floors me when I stop to think about it.

Obesity is not a diseasePretending otherwise will stoke an epidemic and crush the NHS

THE HUMAN BODY HAS A STORY TO TELL: Harvard biologist Daniel Lieberman’s new book, The Story of the Human Body, digs deep into the real meaning of “paleo” and why we struggle to stay fit and healthy in the modern age.

And to start your week off right, focus on your internal voice this week. Whenever you start to focus on the negative, consciously switch it up and find a positive. It’s a tough exercise to do, but just like anything else –the more you do it, the more natural it becomes.  A lot if it means we have to let go of the power thoughts and feelings have over us — Lisbeth Darsh over at Words with Lisbeth shared this the other day:
