Christmas Abbott: Her Ink

christmas abbottI’ve been a big supporter of Christmas Abbott since we met a few years ago. She’s just this bundle of awesomeness wrapped in a strong but tiny package. She resonates kindness. I love watching her grow and make her mark in the world without losing her sparkle.

Not only did she set a new trail by becoming the first woman of a Nascar pit crew, she is now getting press for just being her. Yesterday, she was featured on AOL originals sharing her story and talking about her tattoos. She has 13 at last count. In the video, you get a sense of who she is and how she sparkles. She deserves all the success she is in for… and I will be cheering her on!

  1. Let me correct you and the vast majority of the media not directly associated with or educated with NASCAR. Xmas is NOT, I repeat NOT, the first female pit crew member by any stretch and she knows it. There have been women pit crew members since the 70’s.

Further, she is not nor has she ever been a pit crew member for any NASCAR team. Being a development athlete is far different than being a pit crew member, which is what she was until she went AWOL on the team she was training with.

The reason you nor any other media outlet can’t show footage of her performance during a race is because its never happened – I repeat, its never happened.

Way to go Xmas! You’ve successfully manipulated an ignorant media for personal gain. Our sport however, is disgusted with your disrespect of all the women before you and the ones that are actually performing in the pits to this day.
