Giving back is not so hard…

Here’s some ways to give back during the holiday season:

  • Holiday Mail for Heroes

From friend – Kathryn Dashiell – When doing your Christmas cards, take one and send it to this address:

Holiday Mail for Heroes
P.O. Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

If we pass this on, think of how many cards these wonderful, special people would get. Well deserved and a small token of our appreciation.

Since 1996, the Community Holiday Coalition “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” program has helped thousands of Loudoun County families have a wonderful holiday season. In 2008, we helped brighten the holidays for more than 2,000 families, including more than 4,000 children! Thanks to all who made that possible. We hope you will help us with the 2009 program.

We have both a Thanksgiving Program and Christmas Program that bring together people from all walks of life: those who need assistance and those who want to help. Each year nearly 1,000 volunteers and donors come together to “Brighten up the Holidays” for low-income Loudoun County residents.

These programs are supported by the community — churches, schools, businesses, clubs and civic organizations, youth groups and concerned individuals. They make it possible to bring the “magic” of the holiday season to so many in our community.

There are a ton of ways to give back this holiday season. Share some of your ideas…

  1. I’m doing cans for comments on my blog–for every comment I get through 12/20, I donate a food item to the Loudoun Interfaith Relief. Last year, this in combination with my food drive with my clients, I donated over 40 lbs of food. This year I am going for over 100!
