So I was dragging so much this morning and when that alarm went off – the first thing I thought was – how could that alarm be going off so soon! That is never a good sign on my overall mood and workout. But I got up as usual and headed out the door. It was in the 30s too so it was cold!
I did not have super great news during weigh in. I gained 2lbs this week. I racked my brain on what could have caused it… I did have those cookies this week, and added oatmeal to breakfast….on and on….2 friggin pounds. It clouds my mood for my workout and normally it would affect my day. 2 friggin pounds. On the way home, I thought more about it and it hit me on what it could be…I met my friend Jersey for Chipotle yesterday for lunch and while I do order a fairly healthy meal – a burrito bowl chicken/black beans/salsa/lettuce/no sour cream or cheese – it is full of SALT and then I had a 100 cal bag of Popcorn which is full of SALT. I am blaming it on salt and will drink extra water today and see if it makes a difference. I am trying to get to a point that I have a healthy outlook on the scale. I am sure lots of people can relate to the way I feel about that number. It seems to have a hold on me and my self-worth. I have a lot of work to do to get to a place where that number does not define me…
I do want to point out that I did mention how I ate some cookies and Chipotle. Me leading a fit and healthy life includes a healthy relationship with food – so I eat foods that are outside the realm of “clean” on occassion. The idea is to eat clean 80-90% of the time, but also live your life. Everything in moderation!
Now on to the workout for Weds group session from Plumbline Training:
We did straddle jumps, kick jumps, and fast jumps on the BOSU. We did 3 heart pounding rounds!
Core training was stability ball mania: ball exchange, scissor twists, and crunches & ended with Supermans and some wide leg supermans <–not the technical name!
Then we started the 2 round workout: AMRepsAP
hang cleans 85lbs
overhead squats 65lbs (15)
bench press 95lbs <– next session I will go up to 100#
stability ball exchange
one arm hang cleans (15 each side max)
PT Station was 25lb dumbbell push press squats, and then jump rope (your weight) 15, 12, 9 reps for time. My time improved about 20 secs from last session.
What did you do?

Don’t blame me for Chipotle, it was good! I’d eat there today too 🙂
I did same workout as Steph and saw improvement in each category above this week inlcuding my PT time. And, I wasn’t as winded during the bosu ball warm up, so that made me happy! Also, the one other exercise we did was the power toss. I’m sad we are off next week but I will try to do as much of this workout in the gym! KIC
don’t beat yourself up over 2lbs it’s natural for weight to fluctuate 2-3lbs per day. depends on what you ate.. salt and carbs hold on to water which ups the scale but will be gone in a day or so.. im up usually 4lbs on a monday after the weeknd. yes.. beer holds onto carbs!
Signed,
Kimmy the self proclaimed bosu master.. ha!
