Late on the posting today because I had to visit a wonderful location called: Urgent Care. If you remember last week, I tweaked my neck a bit. Well this week -it was my back. Not sure exactly what I was doing at camp this morning, but the back tweaked when I was finishing the last double box jump. I pressed on, which in retrospect, was probably not the smartest idea. Thankfully, it’s only a lumbar area muscle strain . Ice it the first 24 hours, rest and I got some meds to help with the immediate pain. No boot camp for me tomorrow folks!
Here was the workout for today:
warmup
2 min jump rope
General Stretching
Core work
saucers
toe touches
some other thing where we did a crunch but we kicked our legs out instead of keeping them at an angle upon reaching up
Workout:
2 rounds 1 min each
oblique tugs 50lbs
shoulder press 75lbs
double box jumps (2 boxes in a row and you jump then jump again)
rope climb
lateral squats 55lbs
kettlebell swings 45lbs
Our PT station:
15,12,9
200m run, jumping squats (65lbs) 35lb kettlebell swings x2
Because I tweaked my back on the last round, I did do the PT station first and 2nd round ok, but modified it after the first round with the kettlebells bc I could feel my back not feeling happy. So I did back squats instead.
I think next time, I should go with my gut and stop when I think I should instead of pushing on…lessons learned
