I decided to go down in weight for my power cleans. I have been struggling with my form lately and decided to downgrade the weight so I could practice form. I am not taking any chances anymore. It also got me thinking – how many of my fellow dedicated campers just take it all a bit too seriously. I am not talking about the actual exercises. I am talking about just pushing and pushing to see how far you can go and sometimes at the expense of your overall health and well-being. As I wrote yesterday – we are not training for the Olympics. We are working out for our own reasons and we need to decide what that is worth. I am not going to stop pushing myself to my limits but when my gut says to bring it down, or rest – I am going to go with that. I have proven far more to myself and others than I ever thought was possible.
Since it’s raining outside – go and do something active inside – like go to the gym or yoga or core work like push-ups and squats! You will feel better about yourself if you do.
One response to “I am good enough. People like me…”
Ok today was tough. I think the tri finally caught up w/me bc I felt tired! Of course today was a tough xfit workout:
Warmup:
as many dips as you can – 30
light cardio – I did 1/2 mile run
Workout – had to be in this order, 5 rounds for time:
1/2 mile run
20 pullups
30 pushups
40 situps
50 air squats/tabatas
