I was thinking last night how sometimes I feel like an old lady — I go to bed super early and sleep like a rock most nights. A bunch of us were laughing yesterday at how well we sleep — finish a hard workout, put in a full day at your 9-5, parent — you are ready to hit the hay. There are days when I seriously can’t wait to go to bed after dinner. Yes, exercise gives you extra energy so I definitely get a lot accomplished during the day but when it’s time to wind down, I really take that all the way to the max.
A lot of athletes find they sleep better with a combo of CrossFit and eating Paleo/Whole, clean foods. It’s something to consider if you suffer from insomnia or are a restless sleeper. I was born with the gift of napping — so to me, not being able to sleep is akin to torture.
