Starting today — I am participating in the The CFI Whole Life Challenge – an 8-week intensive health and fitness challenge created to calibrate your entire being towards a no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners, no-excuses, gettin’-everything-out-of-it lifetime of physical and mental excellence. Strict focus and awareness of what you are putting in your body — I had to even get rid of my gum! This is definitely not going to be easy but I am interested in seeing how I feel and react to this. Overall I am a healthy eater but have seen myself slip and become less and less strict about what I eat — this will be 8 weeks to regain my focus and awareness of how my body reacts to food.
It’s definitely going to be challenging and to be honest, I didn’t really want to do it but Coach Conan insisted — I had to even give up my morning coffee, with creamer and Splenda. I am not a fan of black coffee!
We kicked it off today with 21 other CFI athletes – went over the rules, strategies and ideas to get it going. We took pictures, measurements and did a benchmark workout.

What a neat sounding program…sometimes that’s all the motivation I need to get back on track. I’m usually a pretty good eater, but I know there are definitely things I could learn about nutrition that would make me healthier and a better runner.
Its a good challenge bc you don’t do it alone, it’s a game and it gives you focus —
