Im a bit worse for wear this morning. I had a non-stop busy weekend that started Friday evening and didn’t stop until around 7p last night. Let’s face it though –it didn’t stop at all because well, I’m a Mom and there is always more to do.
Friday night, Scott and I headed out to Clydes for a Happy Hour to see my pal Cheryl who was in town from Florida. Cheryl is a fellow Jersey Girl and CrossFitter and can kick ass like no one’s business. She’s also fun and I miss her.
Then bright and early on Saturday morning, my pal Kim and I headed to the Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge at CrossFit BWI. Here is my gallery on Facebook if you want to see some seriously inspiring athletes…I love hanging out with fellow CF’ers. It was a long but fun day. My friend Sven showed the world he was as tough as we think he is –and he took his shirt off to help my pics look better and for that –I thank him. All jokes aside — it really does make for a better picture when you are shooting athletes…
On Sunday, the weather was gorgeous so we headed to one of my favorite places in Virginia — Mount Vernon. I have been there many times but there is something so peaceful about that place. It’s the perfect spot to go during the Fall and Spring when the leaves are changing or the flowers are in bloom. We spent hours there –running around, taking pictures, sitting on the great lawn appreciating the view. A great benefit is that it completely wears out the kids — They both went right to bed after their showers and I fought to stay awake as long as I could before I crashed as well. Nothing like getting some seriously fresh air to make you feel good. And it was good to spend a solid day with the family — I felt a bit guilty taking the entire day to go watch the Hopper challenge, leaving the fam to fend for themselves.
But this AM — I was tuckered out. Normally I am a weekend napper. I love my Naps but not one was had this weekend — Hmmph! So this should make for an interesting week –that starts with the dentist this morning. Another hour or so in the chair getting my 2nd crown done. Can’t keep delaying the inevitable —
Everyday I’m Shuffling…
