Overtraining
Yes, I am addicted to my fitness. Yes, I acknowledge that it borders on crazy but I am careful to listen to what my body tells me and get enough rest. I have had a few close calls with over-training related maladies. And took extra time off to recover but do I do enough?
I came across this post yesterday: CrossFit and Overtraining… How it got me, and how you can avoid it. He makes some good points and of course mentions MobilityWOD.com. I saw there was a trainer’s course for Mobility coming up in my area but it was already sold out! The honest truth is I don’t add in enough recovery elements in my day. I need to stretch more, I need to roll out and lacrosse ball of pain more. All of that stuff goes a long, long way to making progress and maintaining what you already have. It’s definitely harder to maintain the older you get and sometimes I lose sight of that when I am WOD’ing next to mid 20-early 30 year olds who seem to have endless energy and a bottomless metabolism! I was never that lucky! And don’t get me wrong – I love working out with the younger crowd. It pushes me to expect more from myself, but how much is too much?
The 2012 Video Music Awards Makes Me Feel Old
Oh and while we are on the subject of young and old. I watched the VMAs last night – that’s the MTV Video Music Awards for all you old folks out there! If I didn’t feel old before, watching the parts I was able to watch made me feel completely out of touch with the kids today. I kept asking Scott who people were and he was no wiser than I when it came to knowing! And I read this E Online post about 5 Jaw Dropping Things about the VMAs and if that’s all they can come up with — seems like it was a snooze fest! My generation of MTV stars seemed to be a bit more on the wild side! I thought the best part of the night was the old geezers known as Green Day.
I asked Scotty if he thinks the kids of the Green Day band members think their Dads are lame. What do you think?

Here’s a story about another CrossFitter/pro-athlete:
CrossFitter Signs With Steelers — After missing a post-college shot at the NFL because of the 2011 lockout, Will Johnson became determined to make it to the big league. CrossFit, he says, made the difference.
WORKOUT
Today’s workout was a popular one because both the 5A and 6A classes were FULL. Full on a FRIDAY! That rarely happens. I know it was because it was a Met-con workout — wall balls, box jumps and sit ups. I like them too but realize that its the strength/lifting days that really change your body and get you stronger! So I don’t discriminate-I show up no matter what the WOD is.
Warmup
600m jog
- bear crawl
- crab walk
- side shuffle
- Sprint
- Kick to Handstands
Skill
Box Jumps
Wall Balls
WOD
5 Rounds
- 15 Wall Balls (14#)
- 15 Box Jumps
- 15 Sit Ups
total: 12:22
Not my best showing –the air was thick and I could not seem to catch my breath. The combo of wall balls and box jumps seems to take my asthma to a different level and then add in the high humidity. I had to take a few puffs of my inhaler to get through it which is not normal for me. I am not thrilled with my time, but I stuck with it and got it done! That’s what matters! 3, 2, 1…Go!

I believe everything posted was actually very logical.
But, what about this? suppose you were to create a
awesome title? I ain’t suggesting your information is not
solid, but suppose you added something to maybe get a person’s attention? I mean The
2012 Video Music Awards Mames Me Feel Old | Live Fit and Sore
is kinda vanilla. You might glance at Yahoo’s front page and see how they create news titles to grab people to click.
You might add a video or a related picture or two to get
readers interested about what you’ve written.
Just my opinion, it might bring your website a little livelier.
Hello to all, for the reason that I am truly keen of reading this webpage’s post
