Scott and I spent yesterday evening at a wedding — celebrating the marriage of one of his work friends on 12.12.12. A Wednesday evening wedding is not quite the norm for us working people and boy am I feeling it today. I had a few drinks but skipped dessert.
It was such a nice evening — being around some good friends and just getting out of our normal routine. Sometimes it is just what you need and you didn’t even know it!
I also got the chance to wear a new spiffy outfit!
And who doesn’t love to get all cleaned up and fancy. I think my feet are angry this AM but it was worth it.
We got home late – no surprise there so no workout for me this AM. I purposely scheduled today as my rest day. It’s all about planning!
I waned to share this article I read yesterday because it’s really upsetting to me that this trend is exploding:
Media and the Internet have made it hard to escape this vision of perfection and it’s permeating to the younger set in a far more powerful way than ever. And what’s even more disturbing is what they are seeing isn’t even real.
As a parent, it’s increasingly more difficult to combat these unrealistic visions of ideal beauty and teach self acceptance to our kids when they are using mobile and digital devices everywhere they go.
