We all want progress, but if you’re on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.-C. S. Lewis
I love Highbar CrossFit. Great coaching combined with working out with friends makes getting up in the morning worth it. It really does get my fire burning again. I could tell yesterday morning, when it was my rest day and I was sad that I couldn’t go workout. I have missed the excitement and anticipation for a while without even knowing it. This morning it was like old times — some friends from CFI joined this past month and we are rocking the early AM classes.
I can see improvement as well –which is key. I was thinking the other day, that what I was missing were coaches that could improve my technique. I have the strength but without tweaking my form and teaching me the proper way to do certain movements, I was not going to progress much more in my lifting and didn’t realize it outwardly. Someone said it was like you were stuck in a relationship that wasn’t working but you didn’t realize it. Once you get out of it and are able to see it for what it was — it becomes clear that what you needed was a change. I know, I know you are saying –it’s just a gym. But for me, this is a passion and I want to be better and learn as much as I can. So it’s more than just a GYM to me. It helps me be a better person day in and out.
Watch this video when you get a chance. It made me tear up — not because it’s about a car but how wonderful that a son went to great lengths to do something for his Dad. Something that he knew meant the world to his pops and you can feel the love and emotion through the video. This, my friends, is what it’s all about at the of the day.
