I am worn out — today’s workout was brutal. The kind of workout I didn’t want to do, and while I was doing it, I wanted to stop and when it was over — I didn’t feel better. I am so sore that I was having issues doing some maintenance lifting today. I definitely should have listened to my body and stayed in bed and rested. The lunge and core party I had at Highbar on Sunday was intense and I didn’t start feeling it until yesterday afternoon and then it hit hard this morning.
I’m considering taking of a few extra days this week to really recover. February is a tough month for me in general and I have been using my light therapy when I am at my desk to help me ward off the blues. I think I may need to use it more. I am trying to keep a level head about it and recognize that it has to do with the the winter blues and attack it that way as opposed to giving in to the feelings and being a grumpy mope.
Here’s some info about light boxes and light therapy as a way to treat Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):
Light therapy boxes can offer an effective treatment for seasonal affective disorder. Features such as light intensity, safety, cost and style are important considerations.
The Amazon link below is an affiliate link to the Light Box I use – which I find easy enough to take with me, is light in weight and has a timer, so you can set it on your desk and forget about it.
