I like to think I am a fairly good reader of people — so when I sense there is something up with someone, I usually find out I’m right. And what I find out in almost every situation that bubbles up into some hurt feelings, communication was the issue. Poor or lack of communication is at the heart of so many misunderstandings. At the end of the day, think about intentions and choose kindness.

I’m not sure if its because of all the texting/mobile behavior, but people don’t know how to communicate. They send emails when they should pick up the phone, they text when they should just pull someone aside and talk. I see it more and more — and it creates a lot of confusion, misunderstanding and conflict. Not many people out there like to confront issues or address conflict, but if you take the imitative and approach it with good intentions – it usually resolves fairly quickly with less misunderstandings and hurt feelings.

Last night, I read THIS: The Day I Started Lying To Ruth. By the last page I was full out sobbing. Anyone who has to care for someone with cancer can relate to the fears and experiences shared. For the most part, I live beyond the cancer we battled but every one in a while there is a story or an experience that brings it back. It was definitely worth the read even with the emotions that bubbled up.
