You know how you are worrying about something that happened in your life – an argument with someone or a situation that happened – and then something big happens that reminds you that the little shit isn’t that big of a deal? Well that happened late last week. I was distracted worrying about a disagreement with friends when Scott and I got a call about our friend Div. He was in the hospital after having a heart attack. Early 40’s, no family history and just had a complete physical, including a stress test, a few months ago. He was in surgery having a stent put in after finding one valve 100% blocked. Holy shit – our dear friend just had a heart attack. That, my friends, is the big stuff in life — life and death.
Life really has a way of reminding you to appreciate all that you have right now. I was preoccupied with drama going on in my own head and was quickly reminded to let that shit go.
Update on Div: He’s doing great and should be released from the hospital today. He will need to make changes in his life. I went and visited with him for a few hours yesterday. He now has to get used to a new normal –life after a heart attack.
