Deep thoughts

A few things are on my mind this morning and as I was driving around this AM,  I found myself deep in thought about a bunch of random things.

Before I became active, I would never have described myself as particularly competitive. I have never cared who wins a board game or sports game. To me, it has always been the fun of the experience. This attitude of mine has pissed many a people off that have to play on my team.  So this morning when everyone in my group training managed to figure out how to do a double under with a jump rope – but ME, I got pissed.  Because I am challenged with poor coordination, it takes me longer to get things. When I started camp, I was doing the double jump jump rope style and I really had to work at the speed jump rope. So while I know it’s just a matter of time, practice and patience – I am pissed off. I hate that everyone else can do it and I can’t.  It’s this newly found competitive streak that has been unleashed. I will be finding my jump rope tonite and practicing every day until I figure it out…

This pic cracks me up..apparently that is what "deep in thought" looks like on me.

Another thing I thought about this morning while driving home from camp and then again to work this morning – I saw so many people smoking in their cars. Now, it is true I am a former smoker year’s back ,  but I could never see myself smoking again. None of the people in my community circle smoke – so it always amazes me how many people still do. How much is it now to buy cigarettes? I can’t even begin to describe how happy it makes me that it is common place now that bars and restaurants do not allow smoking. I went to a bar for my birthday celebration with the Plumbline ladies, and it was so nice to get home and not wreak of that horrendous cigarette smell.  The people I saw this morning – they just really stood out to me and how when they are ready to quit,  how much better they will look and feel.

  1. In case you want to learn some other techniques apart from the double-under. Here we have some more skipping techniques in video including the triple under 🙂

In my opinion smoking is the silliest thing one can do. I don’t see a single benefit from it.
